In addition to the VCT Bi-layered Cell Based Product, Organogenesis is developing a VCT Cellular Matrix for surgical repair and regeneration applications. This technology is being developed and evaluated for applications for which synthetic and acellular collagen biomaterials are currently used to repair tissue, such as tendon and ligament repair. The VCT Cellular Matrix technology would bring a bio-active solution to the repair of these tissues in addition to the structural repair provided by today's products. Therefore, in addition to a matrix for repair, the VCT product would stimulate the patients own cells to regenerate tissue. Pre-clinical evaluations of this technology for several applications is ongoing.
